A Dream with Subtitles
It was a zoo enclosure shared by several animals. A crocodile or two, a medium sized yellow bird creature ( a little shorter than big bird from sesame street) and some other carnivorous highly dangerous to be around animal.
So, someone fell in and the corcodile was about to chomp them.
Then, a voice of some signifiant character in this absurdly already complicated story.

It was the Green Ranger but it wasn't Tommy (aka dino thunder black). It was some navajo guy with a suitable narrator voice to teenage television shows.
Some old timey style power ranger person or someone started playing narrator in the backdrop. He's kind of an in-universe fourth wall breaking voice because he the thing I distinctly remember him saying was.
"Echidnadapesauras, go and save our human friend"
Then this weird mole/possum-like creature comes out of a cave, perhaps burrowing/sliding in from another enclosure. It looks prehistoric as well.
It was something like a possum but with 1980s style puppeteering
The backstory for this creature is that Napoleon was hunting it in the twenties and it went into hiding. No, not the 1920s. Like way before that. Whichever 20s Napolean was alive for.
So, this non-murderous, friendly looking, power-ranger prop style Echidnadapesauras waddles to the place where the man is and...
... I think rescues the drowning man that was lunch meat for the crocodile and whatever else of the enclosure.
I don't know the rest of the story because at 5am, I woke up from that dream and started writing this because that was one of the most amusing dreams I've had.
Oh, I forgot to mention. It had subtitles.

Kind of lke this (which by itself looks like it's from one of my crap ass dreams)
Not just that, but colored subtitles.
So, when the yellow bird creature spoke, his lines were white but the crocodiles' lines were in yellow.

HIMYM has nothing do with anything but the internet keeps serving it to me.
It had it's own font style and everything.
I'd like to think the Echidnadapesauras won by sheer kermit force. Like by with loveability. It must have Bill Cosby'd out some great advice for that crocodile, or something. Because that's the kind of old timey show I like, the one with moral value.
Amusing, right.
